The name "Palace on Wheels" was derived from its royal back-ground of the coaches. It's 14 Saloons are inter-connected, the interiors of the saloons reflect the aesthetics of the former Royal states of Rajasthan. Rates are valid for all Nationalities and are in US Dollars and can be paid in Indian Rupees as per the prevailing rate of exchange at the time of confirming the booking.

* The Palace on Wheels train operates between September and April every year. It departs on Wednesday from

   Safdarjung Railway Station and returns the next Wednesday.

* The cost is per person for accommodation on the Palace on Wheels for 7 nights and 8 days, inclusive of travel,

   full catering (morning tea, breakfast, lunch, evening tea and dinner) conducted sightseeing tour by Deluxe coaches,

   entrance fee and still camera charges at monuments and palaces, cultural programs, camel ride, boat ride & rickshaw

   ride, and all taxes.

* Cost does not include liquor, beverages, laundry, video camera charges at monuments, other items of personal nature,

   pre and post accommodation in Delhi and transfers to / from Delhi railway station.

* 2 children under 5yrs are accommodated free on Palace on Wheels on room only basis.

* Half fare for children between 5 – 12 years of age. Child below 5 years (without bed) free of charge. 

* Full names, ages, nationalities and passport details required.

- 50% non-refundable payment to confirm the booking (subject to availability)

- 50% non-refundable payment 65 days prior to date of travel 

 

 

Cancellation policy :

FIT’s:

- 5 % of ticket value charged for cancellation 65 days prior to departure

- 20 % of ticket value charged for cancellation 32-64 days prior to departure

- 100 % of ticket value charged for cancellation 31 days or less, prior to

  departure

GROUPS and CHARTERS:
- 10% of ticket value 65 days prior to departure.
- 100% of ticket value between 0 to 64 days    

  prior to Departure.

 

 

2.58% Govt Service Tax applicable on the gross amount Plus a Commercial Tax of US$ 15 per person.

The first stop of the Palace on Wheels is Jaipur, land of Maharajas, magnificent Palaces and impressive forts. One of the most well planned cities of the world.Caparisoned elephants and strains of the shehnai will welcome you to the Pink City of Jaipur. Lunch at Rambagh Palace. Discover Hawa Mahal, Nahargarh Fort, Amber Fort.. silent sentinels of a glorious era. Dinner on board.

Jaisalmer

In the heart of the Thar desert lies Jaisalmer, founded by Rawal Jaisal, in 1156. Here the yellow sandstone fort is an imposing sight, towering magnificently on the shimmering sandscape.The main shopping area of Jaisalmer is Sadar Bazar and prominent showrooms include Rajasthali -the Rajasthan Govt. emporium, Gandhi Darshan, Khadi Bhandar and Seema Gram. Breakfast on board, sightseeing, lunch on board, visit to sand dunes, dinner with cultural show.

Jodhpur

A city ringed by a high stone wall with seven gates and several bastions. This second largest city of Rajasthan, founded by Rao Jodha in1459, is known for its rock-solid Mehrangarh Fort. The grand palaces within - Moti Mahal, Sheesh Mahal, Phool Mahal Sileh Khana and Daulat Khana are impressive examples architectural excellence. Nearby the fort complex lies Jaswant Thada, a group of royal cenotaphs made of white marble. Breakfast on board, sightseeing, lunch at a Palace Hotel, dinner on board.

Sawai Madhopur, a city named after its founder Maharaja Sawai Madho Singh I. The Ranthambhor National Park, located amidst the ruins of a 10th century fort. This wildlife sanctuary is considered the country's best for observing and photographing the activities of the tiger. The park, covering an area of 392 sq. kms. is home to more than 300 species of birds. Breakfast on board, visit the park. Lunch on board.

Visit Chittaurgarh fort, lauded in legends valour and chivalry. Chittaur was ravaged and plundered thrice, and the womenfolk performed 'jauhar', in a sacred fire to protect their honour everytime. Shop for tie & dye sarees, leather & embroidered shoes, lac- work articles and bangles at Sojati Gate, Station Road, Mochi Bazar and Lakhera Bazar.  Dinner on Board

Udaipur

Bharatpur, the capital of  Maharaja Suraj Mal. Pay a visit to the world famous bird sanctuary, Keoladeo Ghana National Park, the nesting place for thousands of Egrets, Siberian Cranes, migratory water Fowl and other species of birds. Visit bird sanctuary, breakfast at forest lodge, sightseeing at Fatehpur Sikri. Lunch on board and proceed to one of the most beautiful monuments ever conceived. The Taj Mahal, built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan to commemorate eternal love for his queen, Mumtaz Mahal. Breathtaking in its proportions and craftsmanship,. It is captivating. The timeless city of Agra offers you many more monuments and tombs, all exquisite in architectural skill and beauty. Dinner on board.
